What is The Sumo Run?

The Sumo Run is an annual 5km charity fun run around Heaton Park, Manchester, in Inflatable Sumo Suits. The next Sumo Run is taking place on Sat 21st April 2012. Sign up now or come along or come along for a giggle!

When is it?

The next Sumo Run is taking place at 11.00am on the 21st April 2012. Sign up now or come along or come along for a giggle!

Where is it?

The Sumo-Run takes place in the picturesque and English Heritage listed Heaton Park, Manchester. The route takes in the beautiful lake and many of the nine listed structures along the way.

How long is it?

A nice, flat, 5km (That's about 3 miles for you non-metric folks).

How do I register?

You can enter the Sumo Run as an Individual or a Team. Either way it's easy, simply click here. It takes 2 minutes!

How much does it cost?

Registration is £25 before 1st April and £30 after that date per person. This money covers the cost of the Sumo Suit (which you get to keep!) its postage, an information pack, a fundrasing guide and the charity's administration costs. The registration fee is nonrefundable, however, 100% of this money goes to the charity and once it is paid your place in the event is guaranteed. Yay!

How much do I have to raise?

Each participant is set a target of £175 to raise for Gemin-i but people are more then welcome to raise more if they like! For those apprentice fundraisers, £175 may sound like quite a bit, however, you're not on your own! We send you a fancy Information pack after registration, which contains a fool-proof fundraising guide with a wealth of tried and tested money making ideas. Just think, you'll also have the greatest prop, the inflatable Sumo suit, to help you out. Good luck Sumos!
